Sensational Spring

This week, the children have really enjoyed our new unit that is being explored in both history and writing - The Vikings.

We have spent most of the week looking at the who the Vikings were and learning how to describe a viking warrior, generating some fantastic vocabulary.

Hindu Workshop

Year 3 and 4 recently took part in an engaging Hinduism workshop where they explored key beliefs, traditions and festivals within the Hindu faith. The children enjoyed joining in. The workshop helped deepen their understanding of Hindu culture and supported their learning in Religious Education in a fun and meaningful way.

Geography

In Geography, Year 3 and 4 have been developing their map skills while learning about the USA. They located key places on maps and compared the physical and human features of the Lake District with those of New York. Pupils explored how landscapes, population and buildings differ between the two places, helping them understand how geography can vary across the world.

Science week

We have fun exploring different was of using science.

Visit from the church

In year three and four this week we were visited by Reverend Pat. We have been learning about community Christianity and the children explored how Christianity is celebrated and links to different community events especially with Easter on the horizon. Reverend Pat explained what the different stoles represent in the church and the children were able to see the different stoles including the white and red stole that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus ahead of the Easter celebrations.
