Awesome Autumn
Welcome Back!
It has been so lovely to see the bright and fresh faces of our year two pupils this week! We have looked at the book 'Our Class is a Family' and enjoyed drawing our own portraits for our own class book - coming soon!
Harvest Festival
We have loved creating our own tissue paper fruit and vegetables for display. We talked about different seasonal fruit and vegetables and which ones are our favourite ones to eat. I think you will agree our artwork is AMAZING!
Design and Technology
Year 1 and 2 have begun their sewing project this term. We have begun by looking at some existing clothes and patchwork that Miss Hulatt-Richardson shared with us that she has made herself. The children also has a go at using her antique sewing machine. We have then been practicing running stitch and weaving techniques.

Super Scientists
In Science, Year Two have been learning all about animal habitats. They have looked at what habitats are and why animals need a suitable habitat. They then created their own scale versions of a habitat.
One of our class even made 2 of her own habitats at home. Amazing work Year Two!
Take a look here!
Japanese Culture Day
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Japanese Culture Day. We learnt all about the location of Japan, what school is like for children there and we learnt all about Buddhism and Shintoism. We loved learning to play the Taiko drums with Emma from Humber Taiko!
Bonfire Night Spectacular!
Class 3 have thoroughly enjoyed writing about Bonfire Night this week. They first performed poems with the Class 2 and used some fantastic expression. (Please head to the Class 2 page for the videos) Class Two also enjoyed writing a setting description of a firework display. They used a range of adjectives to describe what the fireworks looked like and a range of verbs to describe what they sounded and moved like. We have also started to edit our writing following feedback from Ms Spicksley. And that is a difficult skill! Great writing Year 2!
