Welcome to Class Three
Welcome to our class page! Miss Spicksley and Miss Cherry are looking forward to seeing all the children and we cannot wait to hear all about your Easter holidays!
Our Learning
We are really looking forward to getting stuck into our learning in Summer Term.
During the school day, we read independently and as a class. Reading at home is also encouraged and should be recorded in the children’s reading records. Our author for Summer Term is Pamela Butchart. We will spend the end of each day winding down to our class books.
In English, we will be focusing on writing a recount based on the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk. We will continue to develop our understanding of spelling following the Active Spelling Scheme.
In Maths, we will be working on Fractions, Multiplication and Division, Money, Time and Statistics.
In addition to this, we are looking forward to covering a broad range of curriculum areas over the term. This includes: Plants in Science, Local History (550 squadron) in History and 'Where can we go on holiday?' in Geography. The children will also explore different faiths in their Religious Education studies and our main focus this term is Thankfulness. During our Art lessons, we are focusing on the artist Andy Warhol. The children will research all about him, look at his famous paintings and create a piece of art inspired by Andy Warhol.
