Welcome to Class Three
Welcome to our class page! Happy New Year! Miss Spicksley and Miss Cherry are looking forward to seeing all the children and we cannot wait to hear all about your Christmas holidays!
Our Learning
We are really looking forward to getting stuck into our learning this term.
In Maths, we will be exploring the value of money, multiplication and division skills and strengthening our skills in using strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
In English, we will be reading a range of texts together, and developing our ability to use our retrieval and inference skills to answer questions from a longer text. We will also be working on writing longer sentences using subordinating conjunctions as well as adding more detail to our descriptions using a range of adjectives and adverbial phrases.
In Geography, we will be exploring where our food comes from, and in History we will be learning all about famous explorers and their adventures.
In Science, we will be conducting our very own investigations and beginning to look at how plants grow, and in Art we will be studying the work of Alma Thomas. In RE, we will be looking at how Christians live their daily lives and how the bible teaches Christians to be good people. In Design technology, we will be learning all about the design of vehicles. In Music, we will be learning the song 'Do you wanna play in my band?' Keep an eye out for a video of our own versions soon!
In PE we will be developing our skills in gymnastics and we will also be going swimming for four weeks. We will of course be underpinning the whole term with our work in PSHE on keeping ourselves safe and our rights and responsibilities.
Please keep checking the tabs below to see our wonderful work in Class 3. We will be updating the photos regularly to show off our talents!
