Attendance
Ensuring your child attends school regularly is an essential part of our parent and school partnership. Children must have excellent attendance if they are going to achieve their full potential in school and therefore, we aspire for our children to attend school 100% of the time.
Absence due to illness
Please let the school know as soon as possible and before the end of the first day of absence. If your child is likely to be off for an extended period of time, please con-tact the school so that extra help with your child’s learning can be provided.
If your child is repeatedly absent from school you may be asked to provide medical evidence and further action may be taken.
If your child is ill whilst at school, or has an accident, then we will contact you and you may be asked to collect your child.
Holidays in School Time
There is no longer any entitlement to take your child on holiday during term time. The headteacher can only authorise holidays in exceptional circumstances and applications (obtainable from the school office) must be submitted along with sup-porting evidence. A fixed penalty notice of £60 per child may be issued to families if children are taken on unauthorized holidays during term time.
We ask that parents understand that the school is obligated to implement these legal requirements.
Lateness
We realise that there might be times when you can’t avoid your child being late at school. If this happens and your child is late due to unforeseen circumstances, please send a note or contact the school to explain what has happened. Please note that arriving after the registers are closed (9:10 for morning registration and 13:15 for afternoon registration) will be counted as an absence.
