This week our spotlight is shining on...

Well done to Year Two!

Year Two have returned from Easter refreshed and ready to learn! They have been working hard on securing their two times tables facts and they are making great progress. We are really proud. As we like to say ..... practice makes progress!

Oh no you didn't...

This week we welcomed some special guests into our school. (Oh yes we did...) All pupils we invited to the hall to enjoy watching a live production of 'The Wizard of Oz.' All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the pantomime and singing along! What a treat!

Class Four's Sporting Spotlight

On Tuesday, Class 4 participated in a benchball competition at Baysgarth. They showed great sportsmanship and worked incredibly well in teams. Although they didn't claim the top spot, we were very proud of all the children who took part! Well done Year 3 and 4!

RE - Learning about special places - mosques

As part of our RE curriculum, Year 1 and 2 welcomed Shereen from the Grimsby Islamic Centre in to talk to us all about her faith and why she visits the Mosque. The children were very curious and asked lots of brilliant questions about Islam. They looked at many artefacts that Shereen brought with her. Thank you to Shereen for giving up her time for our children to learn more about Islam.

80th Anniversary of VE Day

The whole school came together to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. We curated a museum of artefacts and historical information from World War Two, with special thanks to the Killingholme 550 Squadron Museum for loan of some of their exhibits. Each year group made some artwork to remember those who gave their today for our tomorrow. The pupils and staff came dressed in outfits from the time period, we had a fantastic Land Army, Major Generals and Flight Commanders. The pupils also took part in a National Live Assembly to remember VE Day, live from London. Finally, in the afternoon, the pupils and staff enjoyed a session of old-fashioned war-time games. We had parachute games, tin can alley, elastics and skipping. Not to mention the delicious cakes donated by the catering team. A truly fabulous experience for our children, staff and community.
