British Values
At Killingholme Primary School, we take our responsibility for preparing children for life in modern Britain very seriously. We ensure that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed and understood through our curriculum, particularly in RE, PSHE, SEAL and SMSC. These subjects/lessons and the work of our school provide excellent opportunities for our pupils to deepen and develop greater understanding. Our pupils readily embrace these concepts and show a good understanding of how these are applied in their own lives.
Our school strives to provide opportunities which ensure our pupils have exposure to wider experiences which extend beyond our local community during which these concepts are shown. For example, through residential visits to outdoor centres and through visiting speakers from different faiths and groups and through sporting events. As a result, our pupils have developed strong rooted values which provides them with an excellent foundation for embracing difference.
