Wassily Kandinksy (Our Art)
In Class 3, we are learning about explorers and journeys. We were inspired by Wassily Kandinsky as he uses a range of colours and patterns in his art. We looked at a particular piece of art work by Kandinsky that focussed on a picture of a lighthouse. We started off by using light colours to create our patterns. To do this, we added water to our paint which was a little bit runny! After our work had dried, we added darker colours. We had to be extremely careful that we didn't get the wrong colours on our patterns.
This links to our topic as we are exploring islands around the world and we have learnt that sailors relied on lighthouses to see in the dark, misty night sky at night time. We hope you enjoy our work, we worked extremely hard on these!
